I chose to purchase this Sharp. The Aiwa unit has a backlit display on the unit in addition the remote. The battery life on this unit exceeds most others, save the new Sony due out in Oct., 1999. Overall, this unit is well worth the price -if you are getting into Minidisc recording in the field, this is the unit to get.

This is really the best MDplayer in the world!I'm not joking:it's very small,light,simple to use and with a great sound quality.The battery life is about 11h and the price it'n not too expensive. Get it now!

I just got this thing the other day and have been fooling around with it. I just love what this little thing can do, I didn't realize it's full capabilities until i read the maunual. I've been able to record mp3s I've been dying to take everywhere I go, and the analog recordings really don't sound that bad. I have yet to use the optical cable, but I think the quality there is near perfect. Snag one of these while you can, I'm not sure how much longer they'll be making them.

This has the best sound of any portable out there, and kills most decks to! If your just getting into MD u need this! The sharps sound and battery life can't be beat. This unit is awsome!

An excellent choice if you're just starting to record and listen to minidiscs because of its simplicity. However, more veteran users will be pleased because of its tiny size and low weight. Overall, this is an excellent bargain.
