this review is for Panasonic SL-S200 - bad durability
I bought the SL-S200 in august, and it has intermittently skipped since new, a friend who has the SL-S361C had the same problem, and someone else who has the SL-S361C reviewed it and said that his was constantly skipping after 1 week

Quality problems
I purchased this model and had to return it immediately. It would play for awhile for random amounts of time and then power down, especially when operated on the car adapter. It wouldn't always power up immediately afterward.
Sound quality when operating was OK.
Controls are a bit awkward/confusing and LCD display is hard to read under most outdoor lighting conditions.
I definitely recommend AGAINST this model based on my experience with it. I own several other Panasonic consumer products and have been very satisfied with them, so was very disappointed with the SL-S361C.

SL-S361C has worked well in the car for me
I purchased this product about a month ago and have used it exclusivley in my car for my 45 min. commute to/from work. It has worked very well for me so far - good sound quality, no skipping with the AntiShock feature on, and no problems with the cassette adapter ( I drive a 98 Volvo ). I like the "Resume" feature that keeps track of what song the CD is on when you turn it off, so when you turn it back on ( i.e. for the ride home ) it continues where it left off.

cassette adaptor may not be at fault
Some cars cassette players are not compatible with most cassette adaptors because they see it as a broken tape. While there should be more information about this when you buy a portable cd player, it is not totally the fault of the player. I have heard that the cassette adaptor is incompatible with some saturns, and newer GM's. Hope this helps. I have been using Kenwood cassette adaptors for the past 2 years. While Kenwood's cd players are crap, and I have gone through 4 of them that I took back on warranty, I have never had a problem with any of the cassette adaptors.

Broke, Broke, Broke
I noticed that this happened to a few others... After one car ride the cassette adapter broke--kept ejecting incessantly--utterly annoying. I'm sure it's a decent player if I could ever hear it. Definitely not worth your hassle.
