Cheap does NOT always mean a good value!

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 14, 1999
Yes it's the cheapest CD player out there, but there's a reason for that. I didn't want to spend to much on a player, so I got this one, but just ended up sending it back. I should have just saved the money I spent shipping it back and used it to buy a slightly better player. Don't count on ANY skip protection. The headphones are almost worthless, and even on maximum volume it's far too faint. Spend the extra $20 or so for a better one. You will more than make up for it in aggravation, return shipping costs, and overall enjoyment.

it works.

you can use this 'portable cd player' only on your desk. you cannot bring with you. if you do sound skips and door opens! please do not consider this as 'portable' literaly. advantage of this cd player is its low cost. as long as you use it on your desk it works. i have been using this about 7 months without any trouble. only funny thing is the door opens sometimes when i play a cd. it will not hurt cd so do not worry.

GPX C3860

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 22, 1999
I bought the C3860 for about $. After opening it, I found out the cheap headphones don't even work correctly, but the CD-Player is a pretty good deal (if you plan to go outdoors with this thing, spend the extra $$$ on the anti-shock model). If you plan to get this model, get (I recommend) a Sony MDR-101 headphones and some long-lasting batteries (this CD-Player eats batteries like crazy!). Unlike some other reviews, this CD-Player never broke down on me before. If you are going to buy this model, think about it first. I spent almost $ on headphones and batteries alone!

Good, if you Don't want to go jogging

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 23, 1999 (Connecticut)
If all you want is a CD player to put take with you in the car or just want to listen at home. It does come with an AC jack so you don't burn up batteries when you are at home. Since this model does not have anti-skip do not go jogging with it. It will just keep on skipping and stopping and what not. If you want it to jogging with it, spend $10 and buy one with anti skip.

Simply did not WORK!

(1 out of 5) by Michael on Jan 7, 2000 (Stamford, Connecticut)
Ordered it, and when I received it, it just didn't work, either under battery power or with the AC Adapter. Product seemed flimsy and cheaply made. Amazon did promptly grant me credit upon the item's return.
