Product meets all of my expectations, is easy to set up and does what it says it is supposed to do.

GE 29869GE2 Digital Answering System

(5 out of 5) by UofC MBA on Mar 9, 2007 (Chicago, IL USA)
I had ordered the same items from another source. Their ad did not indicate that 2 units are required to operate the answering system, and only shipped 1 unit. I had to order the second unit from a different on-line store, since the original vendor no longer carried this item. The combined units cost is really too high for ordinary home used. Try Radio Shack for a similar operating unit a a much lower cost.

Mine didn't work.

(1 out of 5) by Chris C on Jan 25, 2007 (Santa Cruz, CA USA)
It will answer the call, then after a few seconds give the caller static. From the listening end, the sound is so scratchy, it's impossible to understand the messages. I will be returning this item.

So far, so good

Good functional recorder. Keep the instruction manual, this recorder has very detailed programming instructions, especially if you want to use the other three mail boxes.

Question -Does Ougoing message play out loud?

(3 out of 5) by F. Brosi on Apr 29, 2006
Can anyone tell me whether this machine plays your outgoing message into the room every time it answers? The only way to turn this off on my current machine is to turn off call screening. We get tired of hearing "Hello. We can't take your call..." during dinner every night.
