Better than expected picture, tremendous value!

(5 out of 5) by Jeffrey T. Saathoff on Nov 6, 1999 (Hudson, Il USA)
I've always been one of those that had to have the best electronics when they came out. A few years back I paid about $900 for a 8mm camcorder, but recently, I had the need for something than would allow me to make quick copies of tapes, something easy to use.

I bought this camera, and was worried what the picture quality would be like. I was AMAZED how good it is, how easy it is to play in the VCR, and how easy it was to make copies in my VCR. I almost feel like I'm stealing its that good of a buy.

If you're looking for a great deal pricewise, and a clear picture with good sound, get this camera. Save your dollars for the next gizmo down the line.

Best bang for your buck

(5 out of 5) by steve on Jan 11, 2000 (mass)
The RCA CC6151 has got to be the find of the decade. I purchased this unit as an entry level gift for a friend and was so impressed that I purchased one for myself . This camcorder is simple to operate with all functions clearly labeled and easy to familiarize yourself with. There are a few special effects and the picture and sound quality are a little above average and you do not have to be a rocket scintist to read and understand the instruction booklet. Tape dubbing is a breeze and the included VHS adapter makes it simple to play back the tapes in your VCR. The best item I found was the charging base 110 volt adapter, no more stopping in the middle of a play back and finding you have a dead battery, just plug the camera into the charger and continue to play, record, dub or whatever. There is also a 12 volt adapter to plug into the car when you are traveling. This is indeed a great little camera for the money, give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Great Camcorder for the price

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 28, 1999 (Dalton, Georgia)
A great price for a camcorder. It does all the basics you would expect very well, plus it has a few special effect tools. You can pop the 8mm tape into a conversion VHS tape and play it directly on your VCR. It also has audio and video jacks for easy conections to a VCR with the same, making duplication a snap. Picture quality is good but not great. For the price, it is a great deal. If you just want a simple camcorder without all the bells and whistles, this is the one.

Low level battery time

(4 out of 5) by Scott L Tabor on May 1, 2000 (Everett, Washington United States)
This camcorder is fantatic in all that it does. Light and surprising clarity of output. The only disadvantage is that you only get a 30 minute battery and 30 minute video cassette. Having to stop and charge your battery every thirty minutes could tend to be a bothersome bore. I have called to get another battery but RCA don't sell any batteries past 30 minutes. Other then that. The cam is easy to use and you can put video characters while you are recording.

Better than expected

I shopped around looking for the easiest, least expensive, and yet a good quality camcorder and decided to try this one out. I love it! My kids can even use it and it is so light weight. I also like the fact that I can watch what I have taped on my VCR with the included adapter. Great buy.
